Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic all of our support groups have moved to a virtual platform
This chaotic time is challenging for everyone. Sib4Sib was started to provide support for siblings of individuals who are neurodiverse or struggle with mental health. In this different time, our mission has not changed. We are still here to provide support for siblings through our virtual support groups.
These 45 minute groups are facilitated by a licensed mental health professional, confidential, and catered to participants needs and age range. We've worked closely with our clinical team to make sure that participants get the most of Sib4Sib. Our activities and group agenda are designed specifically for the age of the group members, with special consideration given to the fact that we are meeting through a virtual platform.
The benefit of switching to virtual groups is that now Sib4Sib is accessible to all siblings, regardless of location. We are offering a variety of days and times in order to increase accessibility.
So...are you ready to sign your child up for a virtual Sib4Sib support group made just for siblings of individuals who struggle with mental health or are neurodiverse?

Confidentiality
Confidentiality is very important to us. Upon deciding to participate in a Sib4Sib support group, both parents and participants are required to sign confidentiality contacts. Due to HIPPA, we have two different sets of confidentiality contracts: one for participants under 14, and another for participants over 14.
Participants under 14 agree that:
1. All information shared within the group will remain confidential; no one will share anything discussed within session with anyone outside of the session, with the exception of parents.
2. If you do want to discuss something that came up for you during the group with someone outside the group, please ensure that you do not disclose anything shared by other individuals or mention anyone else’s situation or name.
3. Out of respect for the others in the group, please do not mention to anyone else (including your family) who else is in the group with you. We want this to be a safe space for all.
4. If there is ever a concern about safety (whether yours or that of another) then confidentiality does not apply and the appropriate individuals will be contacted to ensure everyone’s safety.
Parents of participants under 14 agree that:
1. Out of respect for your child, we ask you to not ask your child about anything discussed within the group sessions. However, it is your legal right to do so and you are of free will to ask your child anything you desire, even though it is discouraged.
2. Know that if your child believes it will be beneficial to them, they will approach you to discuss things that resonated with them from the session. Please allow them to come to you and we request you not initiate any discussion around what they have been discussing within the group session. However, it is your legal right to do so and you are of free will to ask your child anything you desire, even though it is discouraged.
3. If your child does approach you to discuss something from the group, or you initiate a conversation, please do not ask them (or allow them to) disclose other individuals’ names.
4. Please do not ask your child who else is attending the group with them. Similarly, if you do see other individuals entering the group who you recognize, please do not mention this to them or engage in discussion about the group with their parents.
5. If at any point you are concerned about your child’s safety or the safety of another, please call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest emergency room.
